What is a Welsh Black cattle?
Origin and history:
These black, horned beauties with large, gentle eyes have been found for centuries in the harsh climate of the Valais hills and mountains. They are therefore ideally suited for year-round grazing. These are Welsh Black cattle. As their name suggests, they usually have completely black fur, which varies in length depending on the season.
Keeping and feeding:
The breed is known for its ability to survive on meager feed while still producing high-quality meat. At the Krautsand Farm, this popular breed is raised in species-appropriate pasture conditions. The animals are raised without stress or long transport routes, live outdoors year-round, and eat natural, organic feed. Here, cattle are still allowed to be cattle.
Meat quality:
The exceptional quality of Welsh Black beef has given English roast beef its legendary worldwide reputation. These cattle produce finely grained, beautifully marbled meat with exceptional tenderness. It also has a particularly high content of healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Welsh Black beef is still considered an insider tip in our country.
