We are organic.

Wir sind Bio.

For us, the foundation of our meat is the welfare of the animals throughout their entire lives. For this reason, we have comprehensively optimized our operation as part of our organic transition – and our Krautsand farm has been certified organic since 2023. Our operation thus complies with the strict guidelines of organic cattle breeding, ensuring that our animals are kept and fed in a species-appropriate manner and entirely according to their natural needs.

But what does organic actually mean? In organically certified cattle farming, the animals benefit from a diverse environment: They have constant access to the outdoors, and the barns offer more space than in conventional animal husbandry. The straw-bedded barns provide dry shelter even during the winter months. The prescribed design of the pasture, barn, and outdoor area allows the animals to socialize, feed in peace, and engage in plenty of exercise.

Nutrition also plays a key role in organic livestock farming. The concept includes not only ample outdoor space but also natural, species-appropriate feeding. With our own organic feed, we guarantee a healthy diet – around 90% of our cattle are therefore fed roughage in the form of grass, herbs, and hay. Because cattle are herd animals, newborn calves stay with their mothers for nine months and can be suckled directly by them.
